ENVI = Environment, public health and food security.
With 69 members, the ENVI Committee is the main legislative committee of the European Parliament.
He is responsible for a wide range of policy areas, including waste and resource management, air and water quality, and biodiversity protection, to name a few. Members are dedicated to promoting a sustainable and efficient Europe in the use of resources.
The fight against climate change is at the heart of the committee’s work. It remains on the agenda for this legislature as work is under way on crucial proposals such as the ETS revision, the sharing of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions between Member States and the use of land use change and forestry. The circular economy will be another area of interest in the second half of this legislature, given the current revision of the waste legislation.
ENVI is also committed to providing European solutions to public health and food security issues impacting European citizens.
