In the presence of Frédérique Ries, Luc Antoine Brown, …

We were at the conference of Frédérique Ries European Parliamentarian Belgium.

We have got again explanations on the functioning of the European Parliament.

This conference was followed by a very interesting visit of the European Parliament.

I spoke with Frédérique Ries about the “Written Declaration” and how we can make it succeed. To write is one thing, but to meet the deputies is even better and that’s what I saw a few days ago.

She advised me to go to Strasbourg next week to meet with MEPs to do lobbying, but the deadline is too short to do so. Before you go, you have to prepare everything, print, organize passes, etc …

Three months were planned for the signing of the “Written Declaration”. This period began at the end of April, but we only knew it on June 2, so there was already more than a month that we lost. The time to prepare the translations and to write to the 751 members and to send reminders, which we are continuing, all took us a month too. In a week, there be holidays … So finally we had only one month to do everything necessary over the three months that the “Written Declaration” was in progress. Not to mention the Brexit of the United Kingdom, because we have received no reaction from them and that are 73 deputies less …

We intend to persevere. We have learned many lessons for next time and we know that it is possible to do it again.

Thanks again to Frédérique Ries.

Thanks also to Luc Antoine Brown for the warm welcome, the visit and the additional explanations !
